The Weekly Update 07/24/2026™
Beyond Summer
My last 44 summers have all been about the same. The Big Desk, money manager of trillions, head to the beaches of the world for a break.
The stock exchanges of the world see a rather dramatic reduction in trading volume and a byproduct of that is increased volatility. Same choppy, churning, noisy, chatter and angst as the summer before it.
So, let’s look past the Labor Day weekend for a peek around the corner into what is really happening! The earnings of Corporate America are what’s happening and it is impressively positive.
Take a moment to observe the chart below from Truvestments on July 17, 2026.
Here are my Big Three observations.
1. Top left box earnings per share (EPS) growth of those companies who have reported are +24.70%! Incredibly positive.
2. Lower right box, drop out those MAGA 7 tech companies and the other “boring 493” are still growing +22.80%. Incredibly positive.
3. Middle right box, full year 2026 earnings (Forward Earnings) carry a price to earnings (P/E) ratio of 20.3x, right at the 20-year average. Far from the bubble bologna you hear in the news.
As I wrote in the July update for The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™, (Read it Here), under Sign #2 (Money Flow) this rate of growth supports a Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) above 100,000 in 3-5 years.
I did not say market valuations go straight up, and I did not say without volatility, yet the data flow suggests the good old USA has a very bright outlook. So, for perspective, focus on “Five Year Money”. (Read it Here)
