The Weekly Update 08/21/2026™

Media Hyper or Fact?
Those of you who have read The Weekly Update™ and The Monthly Update, The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™, over the last two decades know I am not a fan of journalists of the mainstream media. I did enjoy having journalism students in my college classes, they were pretty dumb, which helped “the curve”!
That said, do not get sucked into their ridiculous and very off-course narratives in print, on the radio or television. It makes so much more sense to focus on fact based, source cited, and independent research like that presented in each of these Weekly Updates and The Seven Signs.
It also makes a ton of sense to listen to really smart, experienced people with boots on the ground. For example:
The CEO of Amazon did a great job of explaining the current reality of technology and A.I. on their conference last week. Consider this:
Andy Jassy, CEO, made the return math unusually explicit on Amazon's earnings call on 7-30-2026.
Amazon begins investing in a data center roughly 2 years before it opens, then expects that facility to generate revenue for around 30 years once it is live.
Jassy said “A.I. servers can pay for themselves in less than three years and continue producing profit for another two to three years.”
Even after raising Amazon's 2026 capital-spending plan to $220 billion, Jassy stated AWS still lacks enough capacity to satisfy demand in 2026 and expects the constraint to continue into 2027, with meaningful reservations already extending into 2028.
This is just one CEO of Corporate America. There are several hundred more saying the same thing using similar words.
To me, what Jassy just said, also noted by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, is we cannot keep up with demand. Sorry to report, but it would be difficult, if not impossible, to have a crash when you're a company making money hand-over-fist with a line of customers out the door and backed up for years!
Here is a chart of what making money hand-over-fist looks like.

You can read the details related to this chart, and investment outlook that goes with it, in The Weekly Update from August 14th, 2026 (Read it Here).
You have a choice to have “Faith In” or “Fear Of” ... The Unknown. You know my choice!
As always, your WSG team remains focused, thoughtful, and on purpose as we continue the ongoing process of allocating The WSG client family assets entrusted to our oversight.
I did not say market valuations go straight up, and I did not say without volatility, yet the data flow suggests the good old USA has a very bright outlook.
Thank you for your trust and confidence. As always, I am interested in your thoughts, comments, and observations. Feel welcome to call, email or stop by the office and say Hi.

Respectfully,
