The Weekly Update 11/01/2024
Corporate America is Smarter Than Politics
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few years you have heard your news source tell you how bad things are in our economy.
Of course you have read in our monthly update, The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™, and in our Weekly Update that I write and post to our TWSG website every Friday, except for that one time, that our economy is doing quite well.
People with jobs earn money, pay taxes, save, buy homes and spend on “stuff”. Per the chart below, ADP reported on 10-30-2024 that new jobs created came in over 100% higher, i.e., better than economists had predicted.
We know it is true because we can easily cross check that with taxes paid. Most taxes come from people who have a job and earn money. Per the chart below the U.S. Treasury has inflows near all-time record highs!

We also know the 92 million millennials are moving out of the parents’ basement, getting one of those jobs, getting married, buying homes and having babies. All huge positive economic impactors. Here is proof.

Turn the news off and focus on source cited, fact-based data points, like these, that matter to the economy Corporate America must operate in. Our economic back drop is one of the most dynamic and productive in anyone’s life who is reading this and it is also getting better.
Yes, I sound like a broken record, as I have been saying this for over two years. However, if you are a part of our client family your account has enjoyed the benefits. Benefits that I strongly believe will continue well into 2025.
Ifwedo get an election pothole…pounce on that as an opportunity. Your future self will hug you.
Don’t fret, panic or worry if the “normal” back and fill comes knocking. It will not be as scary as the business news will tell you. Instead, I think the knocking will be an opportunity and here at TWSG, we will pounce on that, for now just pray that it comes!
At TWSG, we are well allocated for this and have our well thought out Investment Selection Matrix™, investment menu working in our collective TWSG family’s asset allocations.
I’m interested in your thoughts, comments and observations. Feel welcome to call, email, or stop by the office and say Hi.
Respectfully,
James O. Lunney, CFP®
