The Weekly Update 4/24/2026™

What a Week!

All-time record highs, accompanied by the following:

  • AAII fears – at levels seen after months of selling
  • Investors Intelligence (Advisor sentiment) deep in fear
  • NAAIM invested levels well below average
  • Unrelenting negative headlines
  • Earnings racing higher out of the gate for Q1
  • Money market accounts being flooded with cash
  • Did I mention earnings going through the roof?

Having been blessed to see and experience as many Armageddons as I have over the decades, the blindness of this one is almost as bad as the Brexit fears, the Greece default fears and the Ebola (1 patient) outbreak fears of years ago.

In due time, and from much higher index levels, we will eventually get the message to the mass audience: the US economy we have all built is immensely stronger and much more resilient than almost anyone is willing to accept – or see.

In the WSG’s monthly update, The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™, I have written every month, except August, since my best-selling book, Surviving the Storm (McGraw-Hill 2007) was released, have been surprisingly correct.  “The Seven” have been consistently accurate in suggesting how the economic background that Corporate America must operate in is performing as of now, that outlook continues to be positive!

Need more proof?  Read the April 2026 Seven Signs of a Changing Economy update here.  (Read it Here).  Impressively positive!

I did not say market valuations go straight up, and I did not say without volatility, yet the data flow suggests the good old USA has a very bright outlook.

As always, I am interested in your thoughts, comments, and questions.

Respectfully,

James O. Lunney, CFP®
