The Weekly Update 5/9/2025™
“The Doom and Gloom Loop”
With such chaotic policy announcements out of D.C., visibility of what to expect over the next several months creates a constant sense of unpredictability and that erodes confidence. This creates the doom and gloom loop! As confidence erodes investors, consumers and businesses retrench. Retrenchment slows economic growth and as economic growth slows, sentiment drops, as noted in various surveys.
Sentiment dropping erodes confidence some more and around and around we go, until we collectively “snap out of it”!
TWSG’s monthly update of The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™ (May edition out 5/16/2025 @ 8am MDT), does not suggest any significant negative impacts to our economy at this time.
I created The Seven Signs over the last 44 years to build my confidence and yours. They have as a collective been accurate in suggesting both good and bad ahead. So correct, that I had a year to write my best-selling book Surviving the Storm, (McGraw Hill September 2007) in 2006 about the economic meltdown of 2008-2009! Now referred to as the Great Recession. The Seven Signs have worked and that is where my confidence comes from, and certainly not from that rich and mostly wrong bald guy with his sleeves rolled up on TV and certainly not from that dude dressed up like a cow.
Just turn it all off! We have the facts and confidence right here and at The Wealth Strategies Group we will continue to thoughtfully add to our well planned and custom-designed asset allocations using our best of class investment positions.
I’m interested in your thoughts, comments and observations. Feel welcome to call, email, or stop by the office and say Hi.
Respectfully,
