The Weekly Update 6/13/2025™
It Only Took Two Years!
For nearly two years I have printed the trend of our inflation rate under Sign #7 (Inflation/Deflation) in our monthly client update, The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™.
For the same two years our business news has tried to scare us to death, which they must do to get our eyeballs long enough sell whatever they are selling, with complete fiction.
And the tariff war that was going to spike inflation higher, just another bogus non-fact-based news item. Here is the proof in today’s (6-11-2025) inflation release by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Clearly today’s inflation report suggests inflation is down but perhaps more importantly that the inflation trend is also down. Here is a chart of the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) going back in time month by month for the last four years.
Clearly the reduction of inflation, and how it lags over about two years due to the effect of housing costs, has finally caught up. As you observe this inflation history from right to left you may notice we have not had an inflation problem for over one year, maybe two if you squint!
The business news has been fibbing to us for the entire timeline. You want to know the other fib? Get a load of this one, the economy is much better, stronger and growing more than you are seeing reported!
