About Jim Lunney, CFP®
My name is Jim Lunney and I founded The Wealth Strategies Group under the guiding principle that comprehensive wealth counseling, combined with independent investment advice would provide high net worth clients with confidence in our integrity, competence and execution.
In 2006 I wrote Surviving the Storm -Investment Strategies That Help You Maximize Profit and Control Risk During the Coming Economic Winter. It was released worldwide by McGraw-Hill on November 1, 2007. Using research I conducted while writing Surviving the Storm, I have created The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™, a snapshot of the economy applying seven key indicators.
I began tracking the Seven Signs in the mid 1990's and continue to do so every month. This detail helps us and our clients to gain a better sense of where we are in the bigger economic cycle, allowing us to make recommendations to reduce risk and volatility in our client portfolio allocations. You have access to updates on our website via our monthly conference call and The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy™ monthly letter.
I also post The Weekly Update to our website every Friday. These updates are short, concise and timely comments about what is happening in the investment markets and our economy.
In addition to the monthly edition of The Seven Signs of a Changing Economy and Weekly Update, I host a conference call on The Seven Signs through Blog Talk Radio on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 mountain time. To listen live or to access archived calls, click here.
I have been helping our clients create their meaningful financial futures since 1981. During that period I have created a custom designed thinking process that incorporates the tools, techniques and systems that provide our clients with direction, capability and confidence.
My wife, Elaine, and I enjoy spending time at our vacation home in Vail, Colorado skiing, biking and relaxing. Our daughter, Tiffany, is married and working as an intellectual property litigation attorney in Dallas. Our daughter, Brittany, is married and works as an investment advisor here at The Wealth Strategies Group.
